Why does swimming pools turn green next day after the rain and thunder-lightning?

I always have the ordeal to shock treat my pool coz it turns greenish after rain storm with lots of thunder-lightning. Wanna know.

    It’s the dirt, you need to backwash it after a storm. The leaves that get in also leach into the pool making the ph all off. So you need to backwash, shock and make sure the ph is good with either adding acid or baking soda.

    I think it’s because the rain and environment is dirty, Same thing happens to my outdoor fish ponds.

  4. The rain adds nutrients to the water and the lightning frees up nitrogen which feeds the algae.

  5. Renpen has it right. Its the higher nitrogen in thunder storms
