we are getting a 15′ x 48″ Metal-Frame Swimming Pool and we need to put some sand down on the ground before we set it up. How much should we put down? Inches or yards would be nice :)

What you need to do before you put sand down in dig a 1 foot hole so that it has a solid foundation, make sure it is about half a foot bigger on all sides than your pool, so 16′. Then put down six inches of sand and level it. Easiest way to do this is to take a long two by four and smooth it out in a circle when you are done putting it down. Then you are ready to build!

  3. For a small pool like this, you don’t need that much. Only enough to give you a level base, and enough to be sure of no sharp roots or stone. 3 or 4 inches will do if you have a fairly level spot.
